Non-Circulating Systems
"Kratky Method"Description: Plants are grown in net pots that hang above an un-aerated nutrient solution. This design is relatively basic because no electricity is needed for pumps or timers. As nutrients are taken up by the plants roots, the solution goes down in the tank and the roots are exposed to more oxygen.

Wick System
Emily's Garden Wick SystemDescription: Each plant grows in a 1/2 gallon container, which sits in a reservoir filled with nutrient solution. Fresh air is bubbled through the solution, which provides high oxygen levels needed for heavy growth. The felt wick picks up water and brings it to the root system.
